Procedure for the Kerala State Lotteries draw

Drawing the prize-winning numbers are by using rotate drums and tokens engraved with digits
1 to 9,0 and series. Since the tickets printed will have 6 digit numbers there shall be seven drums including one for the series. The drums shall be located in front of the state so that those present can clearly see the drums and the marketing thereon. The first drum shall be used for keeping the tokens marked with letters of series like KA,KB,KC,etc.,

In the second drum, tokens engraved with digits denoting lakhs in the printing of tickets beginning with 'one' shall be deposited. All these tokens shall be placed in plastic purses of a uniform pattern with color variations so that the number of the token cannot be seen till the plastic purse is taken out and opened. All the tokens shall be thrust into the plastic purse and deposited in the drums one by one checking up the letters and numbers, in public in the presence of the judges who then ensure that the arrangements are in order. All the drums shall be simultaneously rotated so that the tokens in plastic covers may get well shuffled within the drums. Thereupon the judges one by one goes over to draw the lot.

As soon as a particular number is drawn the same is checked by the judges and departmental officers whether that ticket is sold and if it is sold it is declared as a prize-winning number. All the winning numbers are entered in the lists of prizes kept by the judges in their own handwriting. The first prize shall be drawn first, second prize second and so on until the prizes mentioned in the prize structure are drawn-out completely.

The prize winning numbers will simultaneously be recorded in the prize register and got attested by all the judges present. Details of major prize payments i.e. above Rs.5000/- will be recorded in the register, at the time of effecting payment.
