Scholarships/Awards for Scheduled Caste students
Recognition and Encouragement for merit
Scheduled Caste students who pass SSLC, Pre-degree, Degree and PG exams in first class are given special prizes. The amount is as follows.
SSLC - Rs. 750/-
+2, VHSC - Rs. 1000/-
Degree (Equivalent) - Rs. 1500/-
PG / Professional Course - RS. 2000/-
Applications along with caste certificate, copies of mark lists of the concerned exam, details of current institution etc should be submitted to the District Scheduled Caste development officer of the District where the last exam was written.
Temple Entry Proclamation Memorial Scholarship Award
Scheduled Caste/tribe students who score high marks in courses like SSLC, +2, degree, Engineering, Medicine etc. are given Scholarships at various rates.
Government/Private schools in which maximum number of Scheduled Caste/tribe students sit for the SSLC exam, and where maximum number of students pass are given cash award and trophy by the Department Minister.
There is a cash award of Rs.1000/- each for a boy and girl belonging to Scheduled caste/tribes securing high marks in SSLC. For students of ITC there is a cash award of Rs.1000/- each for students securing the highest marks in each trade.
Chief Minister's Scholarship
Scheduled caste/tribe students securing the highest marks in SSLC (1 male and 1 female) will be given a Scholarship of Rs.1500/- each by the Chief Minister (Total 4 awards, male & female).
Award for Rank holders
The first rank holder in Med/Engg/entrance exams among Scheduled Caste/tribe will be given a cash award of Rs.2501/- each.
The first rank holder among Scheduled caste/tribes in 5 years, 3-year LLB courses of each University in the State will be given Dr.Ambedkar Memorial medal & a cash award of Rs.5001/-.
Ayyankali Talent Search Scholarship
This program is intended to identify the brilliant children among Scheduled castes and to give them better educational facilities through Scholarships and other aid.
The children are selected based on competitive exams from 4th & 7th Std. and given necessary aid for further studies. Under this program 1400 students are given Rs.150/ per month as stipend.
