The National Law School of India University at Bangalore was established under the National Law School of India University act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986). The Act was notified in the official Gazette August 29, 1987. The Act is the basic governing document for the University and all persons associated with it.

The National Law School of India University is located in Nagarbhavi, approximately 10 kms from the Bangalore City railway station.

A Constitution bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court today struck down a state law providing 4 per cent reservation in educational institutions and jobs to 15 groups belonging to the Muslim community.

The order was passed by the seven-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Anil Ramesh Dave on a petition filed by an advocate K Kondala Rao.

Dismissing Kerala’s arguments as “fallacious and jugglery of words”, the Supreme Court’s Constitution Bench on Wednesday asked the State to provide concrete material evidence to prove that Mullaperiyar dam might collapse if it reaches the danger level of 155 feet.

“Your arguments are unfounded, misleading, fallacious and jugglery of words. You should support it (claim) with evidence,” the five-judge Bench told Kerala’s senior counsel Harish Salve during the hearing.
