Department of Industries and Commerce

The Industries Department is headed by the Hon'ble Minister (Industries). The administrative head of the Industries Department is the Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce). The Directorate of Industries Department is located at Vikas Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, is headed by the Director (Industries & Commerce). This is the functional arm of the Department implementing various industrial activities of the Departments. District Industries Centers are located in all district head quarters.

Scholarships/Awards for Scheduled Caste students

Recognition and Encouragement for merit
Scheduled Caste students who pass SSLC, Pre-degree, Degree and PG exams in first class are given special prizes. The amount is as follows. SSLC - Rs. 750/- +2, VHSC - Rs. 1000/- Degree (Equivalent) - Rs. 1500/- PG / Professional Course - RS. 2000/- Applications along with caste certificate, copies of mark lists of the concerned exam, details of current institution etc should be submitted to the District Scheduled Caste development officer of the District where the last exam was written.
